• Virna Diaz was born and raised in Venezuela. She graduated from Santa Maria University in Caracas Venezuela with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

    In 1999 she moved to Indianapolis IN. She is now the Director of Latino Affairs of the Indiana Minority Health Coalition. Previously, for 14 years, she was the Executive Director of the Latino Health Organization, a community-based Coalition affiliated with the Indiana Minority Health Coalition. Through her position at Latino Health, she has had the opportunity to interact with many agencies and organizations to help with the challenge of health disparities in the Minority/Latino population.

    She is proud to have been involved with research projects identifying and mitigating these same health disparities, serving as a Community Support Leader for an IMHC (Indiana Minority Health Coalition) research project and as a Co-Leader for a Research project partnering with IUPUI. She is still currently a Natural Helper Specialist with Immigrant Welcome Center and a National Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Master Trainer-Lifestyle Coach with Black Women’s Health Imperative in Washington DC.
